Well, I'm not going to try to completely re-cap the last almost two months, but suffice it to say, it's been busy around here. Having Andy gone, even if he is only 45 minutes away, has definitely changed the dynamics of our home.We began school on schedule, just after Labor Day, and Samantha started going to a local private school where she takes Latin two days each week. It's been a huge adjustment for her, going out of the house for school for the first time, but it's also been an amazing blessing. She absolutely loves her teacher and is learning so much. She has a love/hate relationship with the uniform she has to wear, but she's dealing with it. So far, she has an *A* in the class and she loves Latin more than she ever thought she could...
Soccer came and is almost gone. Once again my dear hubby volunteered to coach the girls' team. It's a fun league because it's made up mostly of kids who don't want the stress and competition of the school soccer team, so they join this rec. league. There are no try-outs, just sign-ups. There is only one practice per week and the games are on Saturday mornings. It's always a great way for our family - and the entire community - to start our autumn weekends. My mom and aunt paid us a visit earlier this month and we did a bunch of sightseeing and eating. Way too much eating. Here are Granny and Auntie Scrappy all bundled up to watch one of our chilly-morning soccer games...

And of course the leaves have been characteristically beautiful around here for well over a month - an unusually long time for them to last. We never get tired of the amazing color of the maples...

And here are a couple of pictures at a local lake where we stopped recently when our trip to the corn maze didn't quite work out. (You don't want to know).

And last, but certainly not least, the Red Sox won the World Series and there is talk of little else around here today. :)
Have a good day, friends!
