Needing to Plan, Starting to Plan... Sort of

Every year in the past, I’ve always started looking toward the NEXT school year in March or April. By then I’m starting to feel a bit burnt out with school and I think I start planning the next year just for something NEW to do. Last year I had the whole next year planned before school got out in June.

This year, however…

I didn’t even THINK about planning until about two weeks ago. I didn’t START planning until about five days ago. I’m just now starting to look forward to this next year and get excited about it (a little). But I’m also being realistic, perhaps for the very first time. I’m actually planning subjects that I KNOW we won’t finish and others that I KNOW we’ll completely ignore after about January. And I’m really ok with that.

Last year was so hard for so many reasons, the main one being Sam’s health. I’m feeling a good bit of trepidation about this year because of that. It’s been a good, relaxing and successful summer… and I don’t want it to end… not just the weather, but the feeling good – for Sam, especially.

I do worry that by the end of this year, I just may not do anything at all – the planning may never happen and the kids just may not get schooled next year.

Which reminds me, I need to write a post about how well Sam is doing and WHY - at least MY beliefs as to why.

Yeah, I'd rather do that than go back to my school planning...
