Summer Studies in Baking

Last week I found a great recipe for Tea Towel Biscuits. Along with my desire to make great homemade bread (the old fashioned way), I've been wanting to learn how to make biscuits in a way other than popping open the Pillsbury can and rolling them out onto the pan.

So at 9:30 in the evening, when everyone was getting ready for bed, Samantha and I decided to try the recipe. We figured it would be fun to do together, and if it worked, we'd have a tasty snack with leftovers for breakfast the next day. If it didn't work, we could feed it to the squirrels.

We followed the detailed directions (which I most definitely need) to the letter, and Voila ~ Samantha and I are now bona fide biscuit bakers!

Here are the only ingredients:

Here are the biscuits just before baking:

And here is the finished product ~ complete with a cutesy plate I made back in the 2nd grade. :)

I highly recommend this EASY recipe (emphasis on the EASY).

Enjoy!
