This is a photo of my dad and my son, Andy - two of the three most important men in my life. They went to Europe together last summer and this is one of my favorite photos of them.I was only 20-years-old and single when Andy was born - not exactly what my parents had in mind for their daughter. Andy and I lived with my mom and dad until he was four, when I met and married Todd.
But as God so often does, he turned that difficult time into such a blessing for everyone. Not only has Andy been a wonderful son, he has become close to my dad in a way he probably wouldn't have, had he not lived in the same home with my parents for the first four years of his life.
While neither my dad, my husband, nor my son is perfect, each is special to me, and to one another, in their own way. They have all helped to make me who I am today, in they have all helped me draw closer to God (often at times when that was the last thing on their minds!) :)
On this Father's Day, I celebrate the father my dad has been to me (and still is), the father my precious husband is to my three children, and the father my son will one day be. But especially, I celebrate my heavenly Father, who IS perfect and is the perfect role model of what a father should be.
